Leadership Inventory

You rate each statement on a scale of 1 to 5 according to the following:

1 ' this statement does not at all describe your church

2 ' on rare occasions this statement might describe your church, but it is the exception to the rule

3 ' sometimes this statement describes your church, sometimes it doesn't; it's a 50-50 proposition

4 ' this is generally true of your church; sometimes things falter, but not too often

5 ' this is consistently true of your church, almost without exception.

Section 1 deals with Vision:

___ 1.   Your church is on a mission; the people know what it is and they are zealously pursuing it.

___ 2.   Your church innovates rather than imitates.

___ 3.   The ministry operates on the basis of God's vision for our church rather than your own vision for the ministry of the congregation.

___ 4.   If a visitor asked anyone who is regularly part of your church, the visitor would hear a good description of the vision.

___ 5.   The vision is clearly and concisely stated in a vision statement.

___ 6.   The vision is constantly and consistently expressed to people through the church's ministry efforts.

___ 7.   The vision is passionately owned by the pastor, the staff, the lay leaders, and most of the regular attenders.

___ 8.  The driving and deciding force behind all planning and decision-making is the vision.

___ 9.  Your church is comfortable saying no to ministry opportunities that conflict with your vision.
